Zbigniew Glinka 3 April 2017

Cafe Baobab in Francuska street closed recently. For nine years Baobab has become stable part of the Saska Kępa landscape, and – according to information from their website – it used to be the only restaurant in Poland with real Senegalese cuisine. They have been serving here Western African cuisine – fried dumplings, fish balls or vegetable sauces with beef, chicken or fish, served with rice or couscous. Café Baobab also played the role of informal ambassador of West African culture. It was involved in the celebration of African Day and in the summer in front of the venue there were concerts, djembe workshops and jam sessions.
