Sandwich has a thousand names, and even if there is one name it can differ in forms. It may be a bread, a roll, a burger, flat bread, bagel or bruschetta. It may originate from Italy, America, Denmark, or simply Poland. Today we have chosen for you places where we like to eat sandwiches.
SAM Bajgle (Plater 8) – opened in April and already is a leader of bagels. To bake bagels they used traditional recipes found in cookbooks, kept refining and testing them. Bagels differ in bread and ingredients – you can eat among others Bagel with spring cottage cheese, with bacon and chanterelle sauce, or with salmon and fennel.
Zorza (Żurawia 6/12) – a brand new place of Grupa Warszawa at its first menu offers large selection of hot and cold sandwiches. The bread is baked on site. Interesting sandwiches are among others with baked tomatoe and pickled apple (cold) or with a beef steak, fried egg, onion rings and truffle mayonnaise (hot).
Bułkę przez Bibułkę (Puławska 24 and Zgody 3) – A roll in the name means that there need to be sandwiches. This popular Mokotow and City Center location offers many more breakfast propositions, but the bagles are very popular here – ex. Salmon or hummburak, there is salso a sandwich hit called Midsummer Night’s Cheese – ciabatta with gorgonzola and brie, frech spinach and carmelised pear. In May season, asparagus sandwich is trendy.
Meat Love (Hoża 62) – No way you can talk about sandwiches and miss Meat Love. They are responsible for launching pulled pork sandwich in Warsaw (pork shoulder roasted for nine hours, served in a round wheat roll). Today this sandwich has 5 different variations. Accept pulled pork you can also find there sandwiches with turkey, rostbeef, hummus and others.
Nabo (Zakręt 8) – We also have in Warsaw Danish interpretation of a sandwich meaning famous Smørrebrød. Nabo offers them from the beginning when they were opened. At the current menu you will find Smørrebrød with herring salad or with meat paste.
Słony (Piękna 11) – yes, we know, there were supposed to be 5 places, bu twe couldn’t resist. Słony is classic, we couldn’t have missed it. The place offers variety of sznytka (open sandwich) in many variations. At the menu you will find almost 20 of them, among others with Gzik form Poznan, with eggs paste and caviar, with chicken liver paste, with smoked mackerel paste.
