Christmas in Poland cannot be celebrated without cakes and pastries. La Bomboniera, pastry shop created by Italian Pasquale Melillo, recommends to make a Christmas table more attractive by adding Italian pastries.
Similar to native Italians we can place on Christmas table Panettone, originated in Mediolan fluffy yeast cake filled with candied orange peel or lemon, raisins or chocolate. La Bomboniera Christmas menu features among others eclairs and bigne from steamed dough filled with different creams – chocolate, pistachio, chantilly and mango. Good idea for holiday season are also cannoli siciliani with cream based on original Italian ricotta. In the pastry shop counters you can also find tempting deliziosi (cookies with coffee cream, sprinkled with nuts), millefoglie (French pastry with pistachio, chocolate and chantilly cream) and tartufo (cake springled with cocoa zuppa inglese cream). Italian Christmas may be sweetened also by meringues in classic, cocoa, nut and cinnamon versions. There is also a traditional tiramisu, chocolate mousse imperiale, and bavarese. For those who can not tolerate wheat flour La Bomboniera serves caprese cake prepared with use of almond flour in two versions – chocolate and lemon.
