Mesa Portuguesa is a new Portuguese restaurant opened recently in the former venue of restaurant Portucale in Merlinego in Mokotów. The owner and chef of the restaurant is Jose Costa who was one of the co-owners of Portucale. The menu features popular Portuguese appetizers such as cod fishcakes, baked cod patties, filo pastries, shrimp or veal turnovers. If you feel like eating a soup – you can order caldo verde, mushroom soup, beef tail soup or fish soup. Fish or seafood lovers have a choice of octopus carpaccio, black risotto with scallops, grilled cuttlefish, sea bream baked in bread or baked octopus with potatoes, bacon and port wine. A separete part of the menu is dedicated to the national Portuguese fish – cod – bacalhau – we can choose grilled cod, cod with scrambled eggs, chips and onions, as well as cod casserole with cream, potatoes, onions and coriander. As far as meat is concerned, the menu is dominated by beef available fried with eggs and fries, as a t-bone steak, skewers, and grilled on hot stone. The food is accompanied by a wide range of white and red Portuguese wines. Mesa Portuguesa is kid friendly restaurant with a spacial kids zone and kids menu.
