African Kitchen opened last Saturday in the pavilions in Jana Pawła Street. This is a place where we can compose our own food box. First we have to choose the size of the portion and the type of rice, then the sauce (such as Senegalese yassa, bissau – fresh okra with chilli, abuja – green peppers with beans, onions and maize, or maffe – stewed tomatoes with habanero), beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu and finally extras such as platanos, habanero peppers, green olives, nuts or red beans. Among the ingredients you can add to the box you can find yam tubers, okra, maffe, rice jollof and spices imported from western Africa. The menu also includes fries from yam tubers, fried platanos or hot pepper soup.
