NEW OPENINGS: Lots of new places have been appearing recently in Warsaw and there is a lot to write about. Last week we informed you about newly opened restaurant Shabu Shabu, first hot pot specialised place in Warsaw, located on Mokotowska Street. There is a new cafe opened in Praga Polnoc (North) district – Drugi Obieg, the place is dogs friendly and serves vegan dishes. New Spanish restaurant – Casa Pablo has been opened on Grzybowska Street. It is run by Spanish owners and offers creative Spanish cuisine. New place dedicated to cheese – The House of Cheese, you can visit in Ursynow. This shop and cafe was liked at first bite by Froblog. There is a new place focused on potatoes in pavilions on Jana Pawla Street. Pan Ziemniak / Mr Potato serves baked potatoes with different extras.
COMING SOON: New restaurant by Polish celebrity chef Robert Sowa is about to open. Restaurant Sowa & Przyjaciele / Sowa & Friends will be located at Mokotow district.
TRENDY PLACE: Lody na Patyku is a new icream shop na Powiślu offering ice creams produced onsite. Despite existing for a short time, this is now the most trendy place in Warsaw. Much talked and written about.
EVERGREEN: Leniviec, a popular cafe on Poznanska last week celebrated its first birthday, which was a good opportunity to add the place to our evergreen category. Banja Luka, Balkan restaurant existing since 10 years at Mokotow district, has recently changed its location. It moved to City Center, to Szkolna Street, replacing Kresowa Hawira.
NEW MENU: Polish – french restaurant Pari Pari has recently introduced new menu. Menu with its French and Polish dishes, includes also special seasonal offers.
EVENTS: On 19th August took place an interesting international event – Restaurant Day. On this day anyone can open one-day restaurant anywhere he wants. In Warsaw area two pop up restaurants were set up – one at Mokotow district and another in Milanowek. We guess next time there will be much more…
TALK OF THE TOWN: Some of the places are more popular than others. On Warsaw Foodie you’ll always find up to date rank of places much talked about on blogs and webpages. You can find here also links to reviews of interest. Last week at the top of the rank apppeared rice cream shop Lody na Patyku, with 20 reviews by bloggers or media already being present in Internet. Second place went to Bułkę przez Bibułkę (14 reviews of blogers and media), third places is taken by Sam (12 reviews).
REVIEWS ON BLOGS: Restaurantica.pl described last week breakfast sets at Cafe du Monde and visited Spanish restaurant, which was established a couple of months ago on Krakowskie Przedmieście – Pico Cuadro. Froblog ate breakfast at Secret Life Cafe and Wrzenie Świata. Last week she covered also exotic hot pots at Shabu Shabu and spent evening with wine and food at Jung & Lecker. Ósme Smaki showed us neighbourhood place serving scandinavian cuisine – Nabo. Nakarmiona Starecka took us to Georgia describing georgian tastes tried in restaurant Gemo / Praga district.
